Welcome to my page for me, Sara!
Oh gosh, what to say about myself? Well, I'm 31 years old and I have actually achieved much more in my life than I ever thought that I would. As a teenager, here is how I thought things would play out:
1. Go to college and get my degree
2. Take a break by traveling the world
3. Get a really good job that I would love
4. Have children... I wasn't so sure about getting married though....
And this is how things actually went down:
1. Fell in love in 1996
2. Travel to Wales as a nanny in 1997
3. Get married, moved to England, and have first child in 1998
4. Got post-natal depression but had no idea what it was 1998-1999
4. Started college in 1999. Left after first semester.
5. Toby came back to live with us in January of 1999. He has been gone for about six - seven months.
6. Worked two jobs - part-time manager at Blockbuster and accounts clerk at Ewals Cargo Care
7. July 2001 decided to move back to the USA. Also became pregnant.
8. Move to USA did not go well - moved back to the UK
9. January 2002 Chloe was born at Colchester General Hospital in the UK.
10. Got post-natal depression again. This time had some inkling of what was going on and got some help.
11. Started university in the Fall of 2002 while still post-natally depressed.
12. December 2002 received Chloe's diagnosis of 'Chromosome Ring22'.
13. December 2003 first time Chloe was rushed into the hospital. This was to be the first time of many.
14. 2004 was spent doing college work, working part-time at Blockbusters, and trying to keep Chloe out of the hospital as much as possible.
15. First part of 2005 was spent the same way.
16. Finished my bachelors degree in May of 2005.
17. Actually had my graduation ceremony and received my certificate in November of 2005.
18. From the time I graduated in May, was busy filing immigration paperwork. Firstly so that I could become a British citizen and move back to the UK any time I wished (otherwise there was a limit of being gone for two years and then having to start all over again) and then filing Ross's paperwork so that he could be approved to come to the USA.
19. Finally got approval in July of 2006, and spent the rest of the time trying to get organized to move to the USA. We also had to fix up some flats that we had bought and were intending to sell.
20. My sister Sheila got married in October of 2006 in Las Vegas. Toby and I flew over to be at the wedding, and then came to Wisconsin to live.
21. Ross and Chloe joined us at the end of November, 2006 right before his cut off date to arrive in the United States.
22. December 2006 we did a LOT of shopping. We literally had nothing, so we had to buy computers, couches, beds, pillows, dishes, tables, utensils, etc. People don't even realize how many things are needed each day - but you realize when you don't have anything! LOL
23. January 23, 2007 Alex was born!!
24. The rest of the year was spent with me taking care of Alex, Toby and Chloe. Ross found a job that he loved - eventually - and I started going back to school for Drug and Alcohol Counseling.
25. November 19, 2007 we bought our house. I LOVE it. With three kids, it can feel a little small at times, but that's because our kids are so small... once they are older, things will be easier. Not to mention that we plan on doing up the basement and putting our offices down there. It is a four bedroom house..with an in-ground pool! anyway, I love it here.
26. December, 2007. In a bad accident - our old mini-van was totalled and we had to go shopping for a new mini-van. Now we have a loan on it, which sucks :( Though we did get our insurance money...
27. I applied to do my masters degree in social work in March of 2008. I am still waiting to hear if I have been accepted... I should hear towards the end of April. wish me luck!
28. Am currently staying home with the kids and taking classes part-time. I like it :) though sometimes it is hard - especially as I recently had to quit my job to keep SSI for Chloe.
29. I heard at the beginning of May that I am accepted to the Masters of Social Work program! I am going part-time, so while it would have taken two years, it will now take four. But that is good in a sense - because by the time I am ready to start working, Alex should be about to go into kindergarten and perhaps Chloe will be a little more self suffient by then... we shall see :)
So that is what has happened in the last ten or so years in a nutshell. LOL Ten years reduced down to the first 28 points ;-) Anyway, so who am I? I personally believe that I am a caring, loyal person who makes a lot of mistakes. But, you'll get to know me better by looking around my site... and maybe sometime I'll add to this page ;-)
